How does the Triple Warmer Make Life Energy in the Human Body from Water?

In the commentaries on the 31st Difficult Issue on pages 348–349 of Unschuld’s (1) translation of Nan Ching, Chang Shih-hsien stated:

The Triple Burner …… is the official responsible for the maintenance of the ditches; the waterways originate from it. Water and grains enter through the upper Burner; they leave through the lower Burner. Hence, one knows that represents the conclusion and the start of the influences.

These “influences” pertain to the biochemical and biological influences that sustain life. It is remarkable that much new recent research is showing that many of the entrenched biological paradigms are in fact not the factual truth of what is happening at a cellular level. But, heaven forbid, if any intellectual researchers attempt to shine factual light on the matter, and overthrow such established and entrenched incorrect dogmas.

In my book titled The ‘Mystical’ TCM Triple Energizer. Its Elusive Location and Morphology Defined, I confirm that the Triple Warmer (‘the official in charge of irrigation and it controls the water passages’) is an omnipresent hydroelectric metasystem that engineers the water under its control to vigorously react with the omnipresent hydrophilic connective tissues, fascia, and membranes that pervade every intracellular and extracellular structure of the entire body. This hydroelectric power generation station requires the catalytic properties of omnipresent solar radiation in the form of biophotons to instigate the hydroelectric processes that drive ALL of the biochemical and physiological process that we call ‘life’.

I want to vindicate the original organ formed during embryogenesis, that has been robbed of its supreme importance and denied a proper understanding, and denigrated to the lowly position of a ghost-organ with only ‘a name but no form’.

This easy-reading educational book is essential for anyone wanting to know more about how the energy required for human health and wellbeing is largely derived from water, and NOT just from glucose, as is incorrectly believed. The Major Amount of Energy Required in the Human Body is NOT Produced from Glucose

The late Dr Fereydoon Batmanghelidj’s (1931 – 2004) wrote the marvellous book titled Your Body’s Many Cries for Water, which was updated in 2008. In the book this Iranian-American physician proposed that chronic low grade and usually unrecognised dehydration affects most individuals in the West, in spite of consuming other fluid beverages including sodas, coffee, energy drinks, and even herbal teas.

Dr Batmanghelidj insists that we all need to eliminate all caffeine containing and most other non-water fluids. Rather, he believes we should consume 8-10 eight ounce glasses of plain water daily, including WITH meals, which is contrary to popular teaching. Further, he recommends that we also ingest for each 10 glasses of water one-half teaspoon of high quality mineral-rich sea salt, such as Celtic or Himalayan salt.

In the article titled Water, Energy, and the Perils of Dehydration, Dr Nicholas Gonzalez (2) noted that Dr Batmanghelidj advised that water serves numerous functions in our body, and behaves as a solvent in the blood, and as a “filler” in the extracellular and intracellular spaces. Gonzales stated that water ‘also functions as a main adhesive in cell membranes, keeping them intact while yet fluid, allowing the necessary passage of molecules in and out of the cell’.

For more than 50 years it has been believed that our cells synthesise all of the energy required from the breakdown of diverse foods, including complex carbohydrates, proteins, and fatty acids into the six-carbon sugar, glucose. Gonzalez (2) summarises the supposed energy producing mechanism, stating:

So in total, each single molecule of glucose travelling into the glycolysis-citric acid cycle-oxidative phosphorylation pathways forms a total of 38 ATP molecules – long thought, in fact thought even today, to be the main and the only source of energy to drive the thousands of cellular reactions occurring each second.

In essence, this hypothesis taught as fact, this construct – and that’s all it is, a construct – assumes at its core that our food either directly or indirectly provides the molecule glucose needed as the starting point for these reactions. There is, or so I was taught, no other way for our cells to synthesise usable energy and survive, other than from the breakdown of the materials we ingest as food.

Instinctively, I began to question this traditional view of cellular energetics, observing over and over again the rapid improvement in energy in my patients with an increase not in food, but in water. How could that be? (emphasis is mine).

Regards the citric acid cycle, biochemists state that ‘the step-wise reactions of acetyl-Coenzyme A release 20 neutral-charge hydrogen atoms, whose further reduction into hydrogen ions and an electron allows for the large numbers of ATP molecules synthesised during oxidative phosphorylation’. The 20 hydrogen atoms are absolutely critical for the creation of adequate ATP in this process! Where do the 20 highly critical energy–producing hydrogen atoms come from? Significantly, they are derived from the hydrolysis of water.

Dr Gonzalez (2) states:

In retrospect, knowing what I know now, it is interesting to note that in the textbooks, the authors when discussing cellular glucose metabolism invariably mention water almost in passing, as some secondary player in the process. Yet it is far more. It is absolutely critical, as critical as glucose itself, for without adequate water insufficient hydrogen atoms will be available to produce the high levels of storage ATP energy needed to fuel every reaction in every cell in the body.

Dr Gonzalez (2) notes, ‘The brain weighs a mere two and a half or so pounds, yet uses 20-25% of all the body’s energy output, making it a highly metabolically active organ. And its nerve cells consist of 85% water, in contrast to most other body cells whose water content falls somewhat lower, at 75%’. He notes that while physiologists and biochemists are fully aware of this fact, they incorrectly represent this information as inconsequential in the textbooks. He sums up the matter, stating, ‘The brain needs water, a lot of water, to manufacture the enormous amounts of ATP needed to fuel its complex regulatory activities’.

Numerous scientific researchers including Professor Gerald Pollack, Dr Batmanghelidj and Dr Gonzalez now question the standard model of cellular energetics requiring glucose from foodstuffs as the penultimate starting point for energy production.

Dr Gonzalez states:

Some now suspect that in another hydrolysis event, in this case the reaction of water with melanin pigment found in the retina of our eyes and throughout our skin, may provide a far greater supply of ATP than that created from the breakdown of foodstuffs and the metabolism of glucose in the usual sequence of glycolysis-citric acid cycle-oxidative phosphorylation.

Dr Batmanghelidj believes that the movement of water through the membrane into cells operates as a microscopic hydroelectric turbine, yielding more ATP than the process actually consumes. He believes that this hydroelectric biological process occurs endlessly throughout the life of every cell in our body, and that it is most probably our most significant source of ATP energy. Gonzalez notes, ‘Dr Batmanghelidj believes up to 90% of all energy stored as ATP comes not from the breakdown of glucose, but from the hydroelectric processes in these cation pumps at the cell surface’. In TCM dynamic original energy is termed Yuan Qi.

The Hydroelectric Nature of Sanjiao aka Triple Warmer

Regarding the nature of the Yuan Qi, Arya Nielsen (3), the author of the book Gua Sha: A Traditional Technique for Modern Practice, on pages 34–35, explains that the term Yuan means ‘original, primordial source’ and that it is our primal life force donated by Heaven, engendered through our parents, stored and accumulated in the Kidneys, and circulated through our body by the San Jiao. Nielsen notes that the Chinese ideogram for Yuan embodies three springs gushing forth from a cliff and poetically suggests that an image emerges of the Fire fu organ, the San Jiao, ‘gushing’ Water within the three body cavities accessed at the three respective acupoints CV 17, CV 12, and CV 6. She remarks that the San Jiao Fire is the original Yuan Yang of the Gate of Life (Ming Men) and that the original Yuan Yang Fire is the original component of all Yang function. Similarly, Water is the Yuan Yin and comprises the original component of all Yin substances and fluids, and alluding to the 31st Difficult Issue of Nan Ching, she notes, ‘When Fire meets Water in the body, a transformation into Qi takes place.’ She cites from Larre and Rochat de la Vallee (1992) when they stated, ‘There is no vital Water without Fire to transform it and no Fire of life without Water to fix and express it. . . . The Yuan not only suffuses the body with motive force but is a catalyst in the formation of Ying, Wei, Qi and Blood. Yuan is itself, in turn, “persistently regenerated” by those very products’ (emphasis is mine). Larre and Rochat de la Vallee explain further that the Yuan Qi congregates in the Kidneys at the Ming Men, and via the San Jiao, Yuan Qi reaches the entire body. They note that Yuan Qi can be directly accessed at the Yuan Source points of the twelve organs at the extremities or at the front Mu acupoints CV 17, CV 12, or CV 6.

Note that Arya Nielsen (3) states that ‘the Chinese ideogram for Yuan embodies three springs gushing forth from a cliff and poetically suggests that an image emerges of the Fire fu organ, the San Jiao, ‘gushing’ Water within the three body cavities accessed at the three respective acupoints CV 17, CV 12, and CV 6.’ This certainly is very much like the cellular hydroelectric analogy proposed by Dr Batmanghelidj.

Strikingly similar to this analogy, under the heading, San Jiao, Wikipedia (4) states ‘The San Jiao is also said to be a metabolism mechanism similar to an old-fashioned water wheel that is turned by incoming water and creates energy for accomplishing a task, such as grinding grain in the case of the water wheel, or for metabolising and digesting food in the case of the San Jiao’.

Dr Gonzalez (2) states:

Interestingly, the researchers George and colleagues (as discussed by Dr. Batmanghelidj) calculated the actual total energy released from the hydrolysis of ATP with water. ATP itself, in its high-energy phosphate bond, contains the equivalent of 600 units of energy relatively speaking. However, the hydrolysis of ATP to ADP (adenosine diphosphate) eventually releases a total of 6,435 units of usable, available energy, more than ten times the amount contained as potential energy in ATP itself. In effect, the very reaction of hydrolysis releases far more energy than is contained in the high energy bond itself.

So, in summary, water seems to be at the centre of cell energetics. This is true whether we stick to the traditional view of ATP production from the metabolism of glucose, a process in which hydrolysis of water yields the lion’s share of ATP, or adopt more contemporary positions that water mechanics, and water energetics, involve far more than the traditionalists teach.

Being aware of the remarkable and mysterious properties of water, and having a scientific background of 35 years I was flawed by the commentaries of the 31st Difficult Issue of Unschuld’s (1) translation of the Nan Ching, where Yeh Lin relates, ‘When fire meets water, a transformation into influences takes place.’ An inspiration occurred when I read Professor Pollack’s (5) book titled ‘The Fourth Phase of Water: Beyond Solid, Liquid, and Vapor’ where he discusses the many properties of Exclusion Zone (EZ) water and stated ‘the EZ battery could be a versatile supplier of much of nature’s energy’. All of the properties of EZ water are identical to the properties and functions of the San Jiao or Triple Energizer. Molecule for molecule our body is composed of 99% water molecules, and the San Jiao happens to be the “Minister of Dykes and Dredges” and ‘the official in charge of irrigation and it controls the water passages’.

Summary about How the Triple Warmer Makes Life Energy in the Human Body from Water

Based on all of the above, I propose that the Sanjiao aka Triple Warmer is an omnipresent system of hydrophilic membranes and connective tissues, which I call the Connective-Tissue Metasystem, and that via this ubiquitous body-wide structure, bulk water is converted to Exclusion Zone (EZ) water which makes life energy in the human body from water.
